Argentine North
Salta and Jujuy: gorges, high-altitude wines and colonial villages.
The Argentine Northwest, made up of the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, combines altiplano landscapes, the Calchaquí Valleys and villages that preserve pre-Hispanic and colonial roots. From the city of Salta you can board the Train to the Clouds; in Jujuy you'll find the Quebrada de Humahuaca (UNESCO World Heritage), Tilcara, Humahuaca and the Hill of Seven Colours in Purmamarca; in Salta, the high-altitude vineyards of Cafayate, home of Torrontés, and Route 40 linking Cachi with Cafayate across the Quebrada de las Flechas.
